A little bit of stale news this week, but you are never late to know what’s new in AI.
The big tech giants are still riding the tide. We have already seen the cool glasses from Meta. Here’s more from OpenAI and Google 👇
OpenAI has new powers:
OpenAI rolled out Advanced Voice to all Plus and Team users in the ChatGPT app. They have added custom instructions, memory, five new voices, and improved accents. It can also say “Sorry I’m late” in over 50 languages.
Here’s the demo:
Design chips with the help of Google’s AI:
Google DeepMind's AI now designs cutting-edge chips like TPUs and Axion. Open-source code and pre-trained model available.
Before we get into more tech resources, here’s your weekly dose of tech drama 👇
Resources and communities that can help you get “real skills’
Starting with communities first.
I love what the folks at Real Dev Squad are doing—solving real problems, setting up a pseudo work-like environment, and teaching you all the necessary skills to get a job.
Cohorts by Team Shiksha, where you learn how to code while building the necessary foundation.
By the way, be it for a job or for building your own business, you need to be an all-rounder. Here’s a recent tweet that I read and it really stuck with me:
Learning resources:
10 GitHub Repositories to Prepare for System Design Interviews
Know the numbers before shipping a product - learn about the napkin math.
Cool kids in the block
If you are upto building something, these tools that I found on the internet can help:
➡️ Baseai.dev - npx baseai@latest init
to build serverless autonomous AI agents with memory.
➡️ Drasi- Microsoft’s newest open-source project simplifies change detection and reaction in complex systems.
➡️ Valkey.io - An open source (BSD) high-performance key/value datastore that supports a variety of workloads such as caching, message queues, and can act as a primary database.
We need more CEOs on the ground
Halfway through writing this issue, I came across Deepinder Goyal’s tweet (CEO of an Indian food delivery app, Zomato). He was seen delivering orders today and discovered how poorly the malls treat the delivery partners. He mentioned in his tweet that he will work closely with malls to improve this situation.
We need more CEOs on the ground, more of them being there, doing the work and improving their products!
Signing off for this week. I hope you enjoyed reading it. If you did, make sure to tell a friend and ask them to share it with 5 more friends for good karma! :)
